+ Plaque brings Temple Beth Israel leaders full circle
Members of the 2010 Leadership Circle of Temple Beth Israel were treated to brunch Sunday, Jan. 24, at the temple to celebrate the unveiling of a plaque recognizing their generosity. The circle consists of members who voluntarily contribute more than their required dues at the bronze, silver or gold level. This year, the program’s debut, there are about 70 participants. Rabbi Jonathan Katz and temple President Elaine Weill pulled the drape from the plaque, which is located in the social hall. Both spoke briefly to the assembly, as did temple Vice President Bill Sandy, who initiated the Leadership Circle in his role as chairman of the department of fundraising and planning. Barbara Blumfield was event chairwoman; Sharon Frankel was associate chairwoman.
