Is Mayor Jim Brown the new sheriff in town? Not exactly.
But he did send Longboat Key Police Chief Pete Cumming a photo of a speeding Toyota Camry’s license plate that went out to commission email subscribers.
The photo was enough to send Assistant to the Town Manager Susan Phillips speeding into Toyota Camry driver/Town Manager Dave Bullock’s office.
“I told her to go to the parking lot and check my license plate,” Bullock said. “For a split-second there, I thought I was in big trouble.”
