+ Island Chapel honors Rev. Jim Marsh’s memory
The late Rev. Jim Marsh died in 2008, but his legacy lives on at Longboat Island Chapel.
At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, the chapel will celebrate the dedication of the Jim Marsh Memorial Garden. The Rev. Vincent Carroll will officiate the service, which will include special music by New York City performing artists Eric and Judy Alderfer, who were music contributors at the chapel during Marsh’s tenure.
A reception will follow the service.
Marsh served as pastor at the chapel from 1973 to 1996. He was also a professor of speech and religion at Manatee Community College and was well-known in the local sailing community.
