+ On cold night, special hat is one hot item
Hats off to Gary Steinman. On Jan. 6 at Harry’s Continental Kitchens’ wine tasting, more than one person asked Steinman to sell the hat off his head. The highest offer for the hat, made of alpaca fur, which Steinman bought on a recent trip to Peru: $150. He didn’t accept the offer, but the hat isn’t exactly priceless.

Steinman says he would be willing to sell the hat for approximately $3,000 — the cost of his trip to Peru. He also reports that his fellow travelers laughed at the idea of a Floridian purchasing a ski hat. But as temperatures hovered in the upper 30s at the event, Steinman got the last laugh.

Now that’s priceless.
