- I want to thank all the Positive Change supporters and supporters of The Club's redevelopment. I am encouraged by the broad support of Longboaters for redevelopment. Last week was rather eye opening to us at Positive Change. Hopefully, many of the concerns of traffic, construction hassle, size and needs of the "meeting center" were explained? Many missed the conclusion and I would like to direct all concerned to check the rebuttals as there is good information that will shortly be available on the town website. It was great to finally see IPOC's real concern's of views come out with their closing arguments. Then we heard John Patterson read Mike Furen's pleadings in an earlier case where he specifically stated that views do not have legal standing.... Of course, I believe the views will improve with the lush Rees Jones golf course and beautiful new spa and landscaping. The basic drawings unveiled looked spectacular... The resort business is very competitive and The Club is aware that they will have to build something fantastic to compete in the luxury resort market. We all will benefit....
Thank you Longboat Key Club!
Best regards,
Rick Crawford
