Three sea lions will make a splash tomorrow at Mote Marine Aquarium in the new “Sea Lions: On the Water’s Edge” exhibit.
Stella, Rose and Kitty, the first three sea lions that will be featured in the exhibit, have already arrived at Mote and are reportedly feeling right at home as they prepare for their Dec. 1 debut.
The exhibit will feature educational presentations focused on the sea lions’ intelligence and natural abilities at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.
The sea lions and their trainers previewed their presentations Thursday, Nov. 29.
“The sea lions did great – they’re definitely ready for their debut on Saturday,” said Dan Bebak, vice president of The Aquarium at Mote, in a prepared statement. “These animals are full of personality and energy. They will really make it fun for our visitors to learn about marine mammals, about the issues they face in the wild, and about the marine mammal science and conservation happening every day here at Mote.”
The exhibit runs through April 28. For information, visit mote.org/sealions.
