Longboat Key’s first and most likely only contested commission race was confirmed Thursday, Nov. 11.
Town Clerk Trish Granger confirmed Harbourside residents Jack Jaret, a former general employees’ town pension board trustee, and Jack Duncan both qualified this week to run as certified Town Commission candidates for the District 2 seat.
Mayor George Spoll currently holds the District 2 Longboat Key Town Commission seat. Spoll is term limiting out this March.
Potential candidates only have until the Monday, Nov. 15, qualification deadline to run for a commission seat.
