A.C. Sculptors LLC, a non-profit organization, began leasing the space on the bottom floor of the Bayfront Park Recreation Center.
The group currently includes seven sculptors who work independently. Although the lease agreement between the town and the sculptors took effect Nov. 1, the group moved into the space in June.
According to spokesperson Irwin Leibowitz, the group formed after sculpting, pottery and clay programs were eliminated at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, a Division of the Ringling College of Art and Design, and was renting space on U.S. 41 previously.
