The town’s Public Works Department is in the midst of construction improvements to two wastewater lift stations at 300 Gulf of Mexico Drive and 502 Harbourside Drive.
Construction for Lift Station H, which sits at the southeast corner of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Longboat Club Drive, began last month and is expected to be complete in March 2010. Dave Foote Environmental Construction was awarded the $228,834 project.
Construction for Lift Station 4F, located just south of the Harbourside Drive guard gate, also began last month and is expected to be complete in February 2010. The same contractor was awarded this $111,538 project.
Construction improvements on both stations are part of the town’s capital improvement program to keep the wastewater system efficient and reliable. The construction work will not affect town sewer service.
The Public Works Department asks residents to use caution when in the vicinity of both lift stations. If there are any questions about the lift station projects, contact the Public Works Department at 316-1988.
