The Florida Department of Transportation’s Gulf of Mexico Drive paving contractor, Ajax Paving Industries Inc., will place a coat of permanent striping, called thermal striping, on the Manatee County portion of the road starting Sunday, June 21.
The contractor received permission from the town to perform the work during the evening hours. The contractor is expected to complete the work by Tuesday, June 23.
The striping, originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, was rescheduled for this Sunday.
Project public information officer Darren Alfonso said the noise from the two trucks doing the striping would not be excessive. No lane closures will be performed while the company completes the last phase of the paving project.
