Longboat Key photographer Mary Lou Johnson’s “The Lure of Longboat Key” was recently named a finalist for the International Book Award in the photography division and the Eric Hoffer Book Award in the art division.
The coffee table book was released in November and features approximately 150 of Johnson’s photos from the past 10 years.
Johnson previously had careers as a private-practice marriage-and-family counselor and teaching high school and college English and psychology before pursuing her passion for photography professionally after moving to the Key 11 years ago.
