Steven Kepecz and Paul Conners, both of Bradenton, were rescued Sunday approximately 40 miles northwest of Cedar Key, according to a U.S. Coast Guard Report.
Kepecz is the son of Longboat Key Realtor Judy Kepecz-Hays.
Kepecz and Conners were delivering the boat “No Bananas” to Texas and developed engine trouble. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater arrived on scene Sunday morning, hoisted them aboard the helicopter and transported them to the air station.
The vessel is currently adrift; boaters are asked to report any sightings.
Kepecz-Hays confirmed Tuesday night that both men are safe.
