Now that a chilly March is behind us, why not indulge in some alfresco elegance this weekend?
Save Our Seabirds hosts its annual soiree Friday, April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m at its headquarters, 1708 Ken Thompson Parkway.
White lights and tiki torches lend ambiance to this affair, which benefits injured birds. It will include live and silent auctions, live entertainment and food from the Longboat Key Club & Resort.
Tickets cost $65. The dress code is "sophisticated casual" (think: sun dresses, khakis and polo shirts). Flats or wedge shoes are recommended, as stiletto heels may get caught in cracks in the facility's boardwalk. For more information, call 388-3010 or visit https://www.saveourseabirds.org/.
