The Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key hosts its annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
The meal, which costs $6, includes a fresh, hot stack of pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Proceeds benefit children's charities in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub’s walls and ceiling are covered with dollar bills, signed and decorated by patrons. Every few years the restaurant removes the bills for a good cause.
