The Longboat Key Public Interest Committee is hosting a forum about Gulf Coast oil drilling at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Longboat Key Hilton Beachfront Resort, 4711 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Mote Marine scientist Dr. Frank Alcock; Legislative activist Susan Glickman; and Longboat Key resident Weldon Frost — all experts in aspects of offshore oil drilling — will address the complex issues associated with oil drilling and will give a legislative update.
Maps and handouts will be passed out to help the audience understand the potential problems that may affect the island’s quality of life and the effects of oil drilling.
The forum is open to the public.
For more information, contact forum moderator and Longboat Key resident Gaele Barthold at 383-1162.
