Ready for some world-class tennis on Longboat Key? It’s almost that time of the year again!
The 2014 Sarasota Open comes to the Longboat Key Club’s Tennis Gardens Saturday, April 12 through Monday, April 21. In previous years, this tournament has drawn crowds of 30,000 spectators and more, so they’re in need of your help! If you are available between Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 20, and are interested in volunteering, email your name, phone number and time of availability to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If this is your first time helping, you are required to attend an hour-long training session in March. The dates will be announced soon.

Golfer scores victory with less than a stroke
The Longboat Key Masters Golf Tournament, which took place March 28 through March 31, at the Resort at Longboat Key Club’s Islandside and Harbourside golf courses came down to less than one stroke’s difference between first-place winner Kevin Preston and second-place winner Michael Russell, of Longboat Key.
