Members of Bird Key Yacht Club gathered for the club’s annual Lighting and Blessing of the Fleet ceremony Dec. 5, at the club. The Rev. Fausto Stampiglia, of St. Martha Catholic Church, blessed the fleet, and a canon shot signaled the start of the lighting ceremony.

Sarasota Yacht Club’s harbor was awash in different colors Dec. 4 for the club’s annual Lighting of the Fleet ceremony. Santa and Mrs. Claus and a Christmas Elf greeted each member who came through the door of the tent. Members then gathered outside to witness the official lighting ceremony and clapped and cheered after all the boat lights began glowing.
