The Longboat Island Chapel Breakfast Group held its first meeting of the new year Jan. 4. The Rev. Dan Maiden who recently returned from attending a 10-day meeting of the World Parliament of Religion in Melbourne, Australia was the speaker.

Tennis Center honors its volunteers

Rain on New Year’s Day postponed the ninth annual Longboat Public Tennis Center Volunteer Awards until Saturday, Jan. 2. Dick Eagan was the recipient of the Bernard Ditchik award, and Laurin Goldner was honored with the Donna Schlorf Award.
