The Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards breakfast Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Lido Key Holiday Inn. Chamber discussed plans for 2010, including a triathlon that will be held on Longboat Key in October.

Observer to host candidates forum

The Longboat Observer will host a forum next week for District 1 commission candidates who will face off in a preliminary election Jan. 26. The candidates, Mayor Lee Rothenberg, Lee Pokoik and Lynn Larson, will be present to answer the public’s questions. The forum, open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts’ cultural/media room, 6860 Longboat Drive South. For information call 383-5509.
