The Sarasota Chapter of Interior Design Society hosted its first “Party on the Pass” benefiting Trinity Charities at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron on Saturday, Oct. 15. Trinity Charities, Inc. is an HIV/AIDS service organization that provides services to individuals in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The bayside event included barbeque, drinks, live music from Stone Fish and a silent auction.

Appellate Attorney Rebecca O’Dell Townsend spoke to the Republican Club of Longboat Key about constitutional crisis when they met Friday, Oct. 14 at the Sarasota Yacht Club. The St. Petersburg resident explained the very basics of the government such as explaining inalienable rights, where they come from and why we have a republic form of government and more.

Mote Aquarium cast out the net for potential volunteers on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and had more than a few nibbles. Around 60 candidates attended the volunteer recruitment coffee. Current volunteers spoke to the whole group about their positions and job responsibilities in hospitality, as guides, in fisheries and many more before meeting one-on-one with potential volunteers.
