Fashion meets jewelry at Bird Key Yacht Club

The April 29 fashion show and luncheon at the Bird Key Yacht Club featured fashions by The Met and jewelry by Queen's Wreath. Narrator of the stylish show was Brenda Michels, of The Met. The season's new trends and fashions designed for Florida weather were featured. Event co-chairs were Charlene Kochanowski and Marie Hunter. This season's fashion-show coordinator was Cindy Wolfendale.
Seaplace residents barbecue by the beach

Seaplace threw its final party of the season with a beachside barbecue Wednesday, April 28. The Seaplace Social Committee organized the cookout at which Seaplace residents and employees grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed the musical stylings of entertainer Larry Rich.

The Spanish Main Yacht Club clubhouse was transformed into a tropical paradise for the members' annual luau April 27. The luau chairwoman was Dee Tornillo, with committee members Donna Hoffman, Ingrid Crites and Connie Cameron.
Longboat Harbour enjoys slice of Key life

There is a variety of social activities at Longboat Harbour each season, and one of the most popular is the annual pizza party. The party begins at 6 p.m. and goes on as long as the guests want to stay — usually well after sunset. Chairmen of this year's April 22 party were Bill and Barbara Stamp and Eileen Gildea.
