Key Club presents green alternatives

The second Longboat Key Club and Resort's "Green Day" event May 1 featured a variety of information and environmentally friendly products and treats presented primarily by various departments within the club's operation. The "Green Day" event, as well as incorporating green products in the club's operations, was introduced by Rick Benninghove, director of resort operations.

Whitney Beach Plaza revs up classic look

Classic car-lovers were in for a treat as proud owners turned out to the Whitney Beach Plaza during the weekend to display their glistening vehicles. The exhibit, which is the last one of the season, was part of the monthly Whitney Beach Antique & Art Fair organized by Stephanie Claussen, owner of Steff's Stuff. Part of the weekend's proceeds was donated to the Longboat Key Turtle Watch.
