Harry’s Continental Kitchens will re-open Friday, Oct. 9. But the restaurant’s owners, Harry and Lynn Christensen, have other plans in store. The Christensens will open Harry’s Continental Kitchens Corner Store later this year.
“We’d like to open by Thanksgiving,” Lynn Christensen said.
The Christensens initially planned to open the store, at 5600 Gulf of Mexico Drive, where Longboat Key Food Mart was located, in October to coincide with the re-opening of the restaurant and Deli. Lynn Christensen said that, although repairs and maintenance are mostly complete, the store still needs new shelves and has not yet been stocked.
The Christensens plan to open the building as a convenience store, and, eventually, expand into a market.

- Best wishes to Lynn & Harry in this endeavor - your neighbors in the "near north end" look forward to finding a friendly smile behind the counter, with great deli food available just a short walk or bike ride away.
