Whitney Beach Deli & Wines closed its restaurant and bar last Sunday, but the hungry customers kept coming, looking for a bite to eat.
So tomorrow, June 27, owner Andrew Hlywa will re-open, serving a limited menu of doughnuts, muffins and Danish pastry for breakfast, and hot dogs, cold sandwiches and salads for lunch and dinner.
The bar will also re-open with $1 drafts and other drink specials. A limited coffee menu will be available.
Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The liquor store, which has remained opened, will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hlywa said that operating in a limited capacity will allow the restaurant to save money during the summer, while still serving customers. Diners will pay for their food at a cash register, so Hlywa will not need a wait staff.
“It’s basically just going to be me and a bartender,” he said.
Hlywa said that re-opening will benefit other tenants at Whitney Beach Plaza, which he also owns, by adding life to the shopping center.
