It was fun evening for a fundraising cause Saturday, at the Keating Education building at Mote Marine Laboratory. Proceeds from the Bunko night, hosted by Friends of Mote Library, benefit the Mote Marine Laboratory Library.
For about a third of the 60 players, it was their first time playing the game. Mote volunteer Bob Thomas outlined the game play and the rules, and a practice round was held before points were counted.
Anyone making “Bunko” during the evening got to hold the Bunko bunny until another player made Bunko. Table switching is part of the game, and the crowd enjoyed making new friends while play continued into the night.
