In these stressful times, people are looking for ways to bring more balance, stability and meaning into their everyday lives.
New Longboat Key resident and interior designer Christine Eisner recently released “Comfort Living: A Back-to-Basics Guide to a More Balanced Lifestyle.”
The book is a step-by-step guide that enables readers to introduce positive change into their daily living.
Eisner was a recent guest at an informal wine-and-cheese gathering held March 9, at the home of Bird Key resident Lynne Koy.
About eight years ago, Eisner decided she no longer wanted to just acquire material goods for clients but to help them create a more balanced lifestyle. She decided to put her ideas into a book. The book has an easy-to-follow, eight-week program of simple steps to achieve this goal.
Eisner’s favorite quote is by Winston Churchill: “We shape our dwelling, and, afterwards, our dwelling shapes us.”
She advises people to stop trying to achieve perfection and to treasure the imperfections and the experiences that make up their lives.
“Keep the things that add to your life experience and not the others,” Eisner says. “Establish priorities. Be a gatekeeper.”
Eisner says that bringing more balance into one’s life does not have to be overwhelming.
“It can be accomplished in baby steps,” she says.
