Second Lt. Brian Walsh, son of Matt and Lisa Walsh, of Longboat Key, graduated from U.S. Marine Corps’ The Basic School Oct. 26, in Quantico, Va.
Also graduating was 1st Lt. Benjamin J. Grodi, son-in-law of Nelson and Laurin Goldner, of Longboat Key. Grodi will attend Naval Justice School in Newport, R.I. Following this training he will serve as a judge advocate in the Marine Corps. He was promoted to captain Nov. 1. Grodi is married to the Goldners’ daughter, Melissa.
After Walsh attends the Infantry Officer Course, Sniper School and Intelligence School, he will serve as a ground intelligence officer.
