On Sept. 10, Calvin Boehme turned 80 years old — and his hometown had a unique gift for him. The town of Bound Brook, N.J., issued an official proclamation that Sept. 10 would be “Calvin Boehme Day.”
Boehme lived in Bound Brook his entire life before moving in 1980 to Longboat Key part-time (he has lived here permanently for the past few years). Bound Brook Mayor Carey Pilato previously worked for Boehme and his wife, June, at the flower shop they owned, America’s Florists. Pilato presented Boehme with the plaque on his birthday.
