The Longboat Key Club Moorings Marina hosted National Marina Day Saturday, Aug. 8, a day celebrated nationwide to educate people about the important role marinas play in communities. National Marina Day was established in 2002 and is celebrated on the second Saturday in August each year.
The event featured boat-safety displays from Florida Clean Marina, West Marine, Save the Manatee Club, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Customs & Border Protection and Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation.
Portofino Ristorante & Bar served pizza by the pool at the event.
