Wayne Genthner, also known as “Captain Wayne” says that he was “born in the mountains and raised by the trout” in Lake George, N.Y. But more than 20 years ago, he came to Longboat Key to set up his fishing-charter business.
Genthner offers offshore-and-inshore fishing charters on his boat, Wolfmouth, on which up to six adults can fish comfortably. He offers both day-and-night trips and provides licenses, equipment and bait. He also provides sunset cruising and wildlife tours, photo excursions and Egmont Key shelling tours. His trips are family- and pet-friendly.
Genthner spends much of his time networking and traveling, in part to promote the Sarasota-Bradenton area.
Genthner’s former first mate, Percy, a wolf/border collie mix, recently died, but now Genthner has a new first mate: Abujuju, who accompanies him on some of his charters.
