+ Hedge named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’
The Women’s Council of Realtors, Sarasota Chapter, recently named Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Charlotte Hedge “Entrepreneur of the Year” in recognition of her career accomplishments and community efforts.
Hedge’s name will be submitted to the Florida State Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors as a nominee for recognition as statewide Entrepreneur of the Year and will also be submitted for possible national recognition.
+ Perlman showcases Lido Key unit
Richard Perlman, of Michael Saunders & Co., showcased a $3.75 million listing Dec. 5 at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Residences on Lido Key. Michael Saunders & Co. hosted board members of Luxury Portfolio at the event, where they sipped champagne and watched the sunset from one of the unit’s terraces.
The next day, Perlman set out for Art Miami, a weeklong contemporary art show that runs concurrently with Art Basel during South Florida’s annual Art Week.
Christies International Real Estate was one of the sponsors of Art Miami and the only real-estate company sponsor.
Michael Saunders & Co. was one of nine Christies affiliates to participate in the event.
+ SAR installs 2013 officers
The Sarasota Association of Realtors installed its 2013 officers and board of directors during its holiday luncheon Dec. 5, at Michael’s On East.

Milton Richter, of Sarasota, sold his Unit 13-F condominium at 2525 Gulf of Mexico Drive to David and Stacy Rolfe, of Chesterfield, Mo., for $925,000. Built in 1972, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,460 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $140,000 in 1979.
Sea Gate Club
Sheree Demming sold her Unit 11-E condominium at 2425 Gulf of Mexico Drive to Michael Langer, of Commack, N.Y., for $700,000. Built in 1973, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,470 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $900,000 in 2005.
Kingston Arms
Michael and Jessica Barbieri, trustees, of St. Louis, sold the Unit 11-A condominium at 500 S. Washington Drive to Jeffrey and Elizabeth Starrett, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, for $325,000. Built in 1963, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,035 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $150,000 in 1999.

Youth sailors descend on City Island

Approximately 250 people hit the water Saturday, April 20 through Sunday, April 21, for Sailfest. The regatta, Sarasota Youth Sailing's biggest fundraiser of the year, included four classes of competition — Optimus, 420, Laser and Multi-hull — and a barbecue feast. -
Book club sunsets for the season

The Sunset Beach Book Club, in its 10th year, ended this season with a luncheon and discussion of the book “Gone Girl,” by Gillian Flynn, April 18, at Lazy Lobster. Discussion moderator was Ricki Carroll. Together, the group read five books this season.
