Martha Wells, vice president of communications at Mote Marine Laboratory, was chosen by the Sarasota County Commission to serve on the nine-member Sarasota County Festival Steering Committee to promote cultural and fine arts in Sarasota County.
The committee was formed in late October to recommend a business plan for the use of a one-time lump sum of Tourist Development Tax revenue totaling approximately $1 million and is currently working on a request for proposals to choose a firm with which to work. The plan is to develop a stand-alone festival for Sarasota County.
