Save Our Seabirds Inc. rehabilitation center, 1708 Ken Thompson Parkway, will offer guided tours of the facility beginning Friday, Nov. 20.
Tours will run at 2 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There is no charge for the tour. Call ahead for large groups.

Leatherback turtle released after two days of rehab

Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Turtle Hospital treated one of its largest patients ever recently. Lizzy, a 787-pound leatherback sea turtle rescued from Lee County, came to Mote for rehabilitation after stranding Tuesday, Jan. 5. She was released more than 20 miles off the coast of St. Petersburg two days later. -
