Longboat Key golf champion Arlene McKitrick won her 153rd championship earlier this month at the International Senior Amateur Golf Society Championship in Bermuda. Golfers from seven countries participated in the tournament.
Entering the final round, McKitrick was four shots behind. But after seven holes, she was tied for the lead. On the 14th hole, she started her charge and won by three shots.
McKitrick said strong winds and extreme elevations with many blind spots made the tournament a challenge.
