Lucien Levy, 85, of Longboat Key, died Nov. 13.
Born Dec. 21, 1923, he was a former resident of New York City, Lausanne, Switzerland and Cairo. He was a real-estate developer and philanthropist.
Mr. Levy is survived by his wife, Elvire; daughter, Michele Spycher; son, Roland Levy; brother, Andre Levy; sister, Nelly Olsburgh; and three grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Toale Brothers Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, followed by burial at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery, 801 Circus Blvd., Sarasota. Donations can be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, mskcc.org, or Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota Foundation Inc., boysandgirlsclubs.com.

Approximately 250 people hit the water Saturday, April 20 through Sunday, April 21, for Sailfest. The regatta, Sarasota Youth Sailing's biggest fundraiser of the year, included four classes of competition — Optimus, 420, Laser and Multi-hull — and a barbecue feast. -
Book club sunsets for the season

The Sunset Beach Book Club, in its 10th year, ended this season with a luncheon and discussion of the book “Gone Girl,” by Gillian Flynn, April 18, at Lazy Lobster. Discussion moderator was Ricki Carroll. Together, the group read five books this season.
