Longboat Key Garden Club members gathered yesterday to install the first seven engraved bricks in the Butterfly Garden of Bicentennial Park. Bricks are $60 and support the upkeep of the garden.
According to Garden Club President Jackie Salvino, most of the bricks installed yesterday were engraved with the names of members’ grandchildren. And Salvino plans to bring her grandchildren to the Butterfly Garden when they visit during the week of Thanksgiving so they can see their names on the brick she purchased in their honor.
