A new Longboat Key Fire Rescue boat was dedicated last week and has been praised by members of the Longboat Key Town Commission that were able to take a ride in the boat.
“Paul ...You should be proud,” wrote Vice Mayor David Brenner in an email to Longboat Key Fire Rescue Chief Paul Dezzi Nov. 2, after a dedication ceremony. “All of the members of your department are quite professional and today's ceremony only confirmed it.”
Dezzi, in an email to Brenner, Mayor Jim Brown and Commissioner Pat Zunz, called the new boat “a tremendous asset to our fleet.”
“Since we are called to all water emergencies both offshore and along the shore we need to have the equipment necessary to mitigate the incident,” Dezzi wrote. “The purchase of this new vessel keeps with our mission to protect property and save lives.”
