Volunteers step it up for beach walk

It’s (usually) sunny in paradise, and these volunteers proved it.

On Saturday morning, volunteers hit the 825 miles of Florida’s beaches to walk one mile and take a photograph along the way to upload to the Internet for the Great VISIT FLORIDA Beach Walk to generate publicity for local beaches before winter tourist season.

The Longboat Key Club and Resort served as the headquarters for the Longboat Key phase of the event. Key Club volunteers walked miles 286 through 290 in the state and miles 31 to 35 in Sarasota County.
