Question: What is the first sign of fall on Longboat Key?
Virginia Sanders
“When I see the first leaves turn color. I especially notice the sea grapes. And I know fall is here when the century plant in my yard blooms. I have had it 30 years and it has bloomed twice, both in the fall.”
Eva Waldroup
“The cool temperatures in the early morning tell me fall is on its way. And the cool late-evening temperatures are another sign.”
Susan Schaefer
“One thing absolutely is the arrival of the car carriers. I know that fall is here and the season is about to begin. I know, too, that the lines will be getting longer everywhere.”
Lloyd Singer
“The birds are returning and I know fall is coming. I saw some blue jays today.”
Marvin Norin
“It has to be when traffic increases. I know it means slower travel time but that doesn’t bother me.”
Isa McGuire
“I’m from Virginia and this is my first fall season here. I haven’t seen anything yet that looks like fall, but then I don’t really know what to look for.”
