Last week, The Longboat Observer looked back on the first 25 years of the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort’s history. This week, we highlight 1995 to 2010. Although the Colony’s future remains uncertain, the Klauber family, 41-year Colony owners, hope that its past will be preserved, possibly in a room dedicated to its history.
“We think it’s a historic place,” said longtime Colony General Manager and President Katie Klauber Moulton.

- I spent many a happy time at the Colony during the first full week of Dec. For at least 10 years I attended the Bud Collins Hackers Open and had a blast. Wish you'd showed some pictures of that event. The Colony will be missed by us "Hackers". Linda Johnson

Mar Vista dollars to benefit local teen
Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pubâ€™s walls and ceiling are covered with dollar bills, signed and decorated by patrons. Every few years the restaurant removes the bills for a good cause.
