- I believe regulating the height of church steeples is overstepping. Churches should enjoy relatively unfettered architectural restrictions consistent with the separation of church and state. Most steeples are made of nonflammable material so the excuse that ladder trucks cannot reach to top is unreasonable. The steeple tradition began so the faithful could find the church through dense forests, and although Longboat has no dense forests, steeples continue to elicit strong feelings in church members. Governmental bodies should leave church architecture alone.

- This is another prime example of P&Z over reaching. Churches and Synagoues are some of the most beutiful architectural landmarks in a community. They have there hands full with the Colony!
