James “Jimmy” Krohn, 85, of Saginaw, Mich. and Longboat Key, died Aug. 28.
Born Dec. 11, 1924, in Saginaw, he was a decorated World War II veteran and twice-escaped prisoner of war. He was president of Seitner Brothers in Saginaw and was active in many national, state and local charitable and educational organizations.
Mr. Krohn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bobbie; daughters Kathy Krohn, Suzie Krohn and Barby Lieber; brothers Richard, Robert and Charles; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial with military honors took place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National World War II Museum, 945 Magazine, New Orleans, La. 70130, nationalww2museum.org or American Red Cross of Saginaw County, 1232 N.
