More than 3,000 Florida Power and Light customers on Longboat Key and the city of Sarasota suffered a power outage this morning.
At 10:19 a.m., FP&L spokesperson Sarah Marmion said an equipment problem on a main underground electrical line occurred, leaving 3,100 customers without power.
“It’s being isolated and restored as soon as possible,” Marmion said. “We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
Marmion said about 1,000 customers remain without power at 12:30 p.m. today.
Most of Longboat Key’s power, which went out on the southern half of the Key, has been restored.
