Longboat Key Fire Rescue Chief Paul Dezzi said opportunities for departments to use commercial complexes for training don’t come along often.
But that opportunity came earlier today, when firefighter/paramedics used the former Longboat Key Hilton Beachfront Resort for training drills. Firefighter/paramedics practiced skills such as forcible entry, aerial ladder operations and overhaul.
There were no fire or smoke conditions during the drill.
