Longboat Key District 3 Commissioner Peter O’Connor has officially become a candidate for his third and final two-year term that would begin in March 2010.
Town Clerk Trish Granger confirmed that O’Connor submitted election paperwork at Town Hall, and the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Office has confirmed O’Connor’s petition certification paperwork.
At-large Commissioner Hal Lenobel and Vice Mayor Commissioner Robert Siekmann, District 5, are also eligible for additional two-year terms this March. In addition Mayor Lee Rothenberg, District 1, will vacate his seat via term limits next year.
Granger confirmed that both Lenobel and Siekmann have taken out election paperwork from Town Hall.
No one else has yet to make an inquiry at Town Hall to run for any of the seats coming available next year.
