Lido Shores home marks record sale this year

A Lido Shores home sold for $7,423,500 Friday, July 17, according to the Sarasota County Clerk of the Court Web site, www.sarasotaclerk.org.
The sales price is a year-to-date record for Sarasota County.
The home, located at 1301 Westway Drive, has four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths and a swimming pool. It has 8,339 square feet, 5,989 of which are air-conditioned living area.
Linda Roe Dickinson, of Michael Saunders & Co., was the listing agent for the transaction. Lisa Rooks Morris, of Prudential Palms Realty, represented the buyer.
According to the clerk’s Web site, Robert and Anne Essner, of Morristown, N.J., bought the home from Sole Investments LLC, of New York City.
Sole Investments LLC purchased the property for $1.89 million in 2002 and tore down the previous home. The existing structure was built in 2006.

Approximately 250 people hit the water Saturday, April 20 through Sunday, April 21, for Sailfest. The regatta, Sarasota Youth Sailing's biggest fundraiser of the year, included four classes of competition — Optimus, 420, Laser and Multi-hull — and a barbecue feast. -
Book club sunsets for the season

The Sunset Beach Book Club, in its 10th year, ended this season with a luncheon and discussion of the book “Gone Girl,” by Gillian Flynn, April 18, at Lazy Lobster. Discussion moderator was Ricki Carroll. Together, the group read five books this season.
