Renovations are complete for the new cultural media room at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, a Division of Ringling College.
The Arts Center will celebrate a soft opening for the room in October, when it will also hold the opening of the “Aging America” exhibit.
Prior to renovations, the media room space consisted of the Glen Gallery and the Members’ Gallery.
In order to form a single room, the wall separating the two galleries was torn down. Renovations also included the installation of a new ceiling, lighting fixtures and carpets.
According to Arts Center Executive Director Jane Buckman, the renovations were necessary because the Arts Center needed a room that could hold at least 100 people for concerts and lectures.
