Rolliston Linscott Jr., 94, of Longboat Key, died July 9.
Born Nov. 23, 1915, in Melrose, Mass., he was an alumnus of Phillips Exeter Academy, in Exeter, N.H., and Dartmouth College, in Hanover, N.H. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flight instructor during World War II. Mr. Linscott worked in his family’s textile business for many years before starting his own textile-related business in New York.
Mr. Linscott is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia; sons Wayland and Lincoln; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, tidewell.org.
