  • Did these same residents protest the Key Clubs plan to build a large hotel/convention center and many condos behind the gates Islandside? That would have certainly caused a lot of noise and traffic. The little improvement Mar Vista would like to make should not cause such a stir!

  • This seems to be the attitude of: now that I'm here and get to enjoy the beauty of Longbeach, close the gates behind me.

Everyone in Sarasota/Bradenton deals with increased parking and traffic issues over season. But we have no problem with the benefits that come with those snowbirds, from sales taxes to a far-ahead-of-the-curve recovering real estate market.

Parking around a restaurant is just that, around a restaurant. Patrons aren't parking in your driveways. Mar Vista is one of the few remaining truly historic restaurants, and it deserves to be enjoyed by many.
