Longboat Key Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Paul Dezzi and Police Chief Al Hogle spoke to a crowd of nearly 50 today at Longboat Island Chapel’s Hurricane Preparation and Safety Seminar.
Dezzi and Hogle gave residents an overview of how their departments function and told them what would happen if a major storm hit Longboat.
“It’s very important that when (officials) tell you you need to evacuate that you evacuate the island,” Dezzi said.
